UFC 100 Odds and Predictions – Secondary Fights

As excited as the MMA Fight Card odds make us thanks to the big title fights, we have to remember that the event is so big that it goes beyond title fights. The card Is stacked from top to bottom, so we shouldn’t take the non-main events for granted. Let’s make some picks for other interesting bouts on this rockin’ sportsbook betting MMA card.

Welterweight Bout

Jon Fitch (22-3) vs Paulo Thiago (11-0)

Sports predictions favorite: Fitch -400

The undefeated Thiago, a massive underdog? Why? Well, his record his deceiving. The Brazilian has just one UFC fight under his belt, and he was arguably losing that fight to Josh Koscheck before he caught him with a devastating uppercut. While Thiago, a law enforcement officer, showed great power in dropping the granite-chinned Koscheck, the knockout punch was a bit of a Hail-Mary. He’ll need a better all-around fight against Jon Fitch, whose chin was strong enough to withstand a barrage of Georges St-Pierre strikes last year.

Were it not for GSP’s dominance, Fitch would probably sit atop the welterweight heap. He beat current No. 1 contender Thiago Alves and reportedly gets another title shot if he beats Paulo Thiago. Fitch is a world-class wrestler with underrated striking, so he’s a fitting favorite against Thiago. He’s given no reason for us to bet against him.

Best betting management pick: Fitch -400

Light heavyweight Bout

Stephan Bonnar (14-5) vs Mark Coleman (15-9)

Sports predictions favorite: Bonnar -300

One of MMA’s most entertaining fighters faces one of MMA’s most accomplished fighters in this light heavyweight clash. Famous for his epic clashes with Forrest Griffin, Stephan Bonnar is a warrior. He can brawl with his fists but he also has good Jiu-Jitsu and can submit opponents. His best asset may be his granite chin; he’s never truly been knocked out, so even big Mark Coleman probably won’t finish him.

Coleman, the first UFC heavyweight champion, is way past his prime at age 44. He’s still a great wrestler and could win if he manages to mount Bonnar for a ground and pound, but chances are Bonnar will pick him apart standing up. Go with the favorite.

Best betting management pick: Bonnar -300
