Is Favre worth the Fantasy Risk?

Brett Favre is Back! Is the new but old Minnesota Viking QB worth the fantasy risk?

Are you suprised? Brett Favre is back. The man that has retired and un-retired as many times as Michael Jordan. Brett has returned for one more season with the Minnesota Vikings. So the big question is, what do you when it’s your turn to pick in your fantasy league, and the name BRETT FAVRE is still on the board? I’m sure the thought of a fantasy steal creeps into your mind. But then on the other hand you think, can I deal with all the annoying things (INT’s) that come along with him for a full season. But when it comes down to it, the man still has skills.

Last year with the New York Jets, in 12 weeks he was among the top QB’s throwing 20 touchdowns. After injuring his arm he only had 2 more TD’s and 9 INT’s.

But that was 2008, this year he will playing with a much better receiving corp and will have the best RB in football behind him. Also factor in that he will have a better then average O-Line protecting him.

What is uncertain, is how will Brett play coming off biceps surgery and skipping training camp? Will he be able to trust or get comfortable with his Wide Receivers in such a limited time? What is for certain, Brett Farve will be 40 in October….yes I said 40. Just incase you thought I was talking about Vinny Testaverde!

All-in-All we are expecting Favre to be who he is. The overhyped highlighted, gun slinging, future hall-of-famer QB that will drive you nuts every Sunday trying to make a miracle play that ends up and an INT in your fantasy stat column. But if you are prepared to deal with that, then you can expect a 20+ TD and more then 3,000 passing yards from Mr. Indecision.
