The St. Louis Cardinals will be highly motivated for a victory off four consecutive losses.  They have the rest advantage over the Milwaukee Brewers after having yesterday off, while the Brewers completed their three-game series with the Royals.  All three games were decided by two runs or fewer so their bullpen is pretty taxed.

The Cardinals have a big advantage on the mound tonight behind Sonny Gray.  The Twins are regretting letting him go at this point.  Gray is 4-1 with a 0.89 ERA and 0.86 WHIP in five starts this season, allowing just 3 earned runs and one homer in 30 1/3 innings with 38 K’s.  Gray held the Brewers to 2 earned runs in 6 1/3 innings with 12 K’s back on April 21st.

I’ll gladly fade Tobias Myers, who is 0-2 with a 6.23 ERA and 1.31 WHIP in three starts for the Brewers this season.  Myers has already allowed 9 earned runs and 5 homers in 13 innings in his three starts.

The Cardinals are 225-161 in their last 386 games off three or more consecutive losses.  They also want revenge after being swept by the Brewers in their first series this season.  Milwaukee is just 1-4 in its last five games overall with the one victory being a 9th inning comeback after being down two runs.  Bet the Cardinals Thursday.
