The battle for state bragging rights rages on for one more night as the Texas Rangers and the Houston Astros wrap-up a three game set tonight at Minute Maid Park. Game time is set for 8:05 p.m. (ET) and it will be broadcast on the MLB Network.

Texas has already won this series with a 7-3 victory on Tuesday as a 162 road favorite and a 3-2 win last night as a 132 favorite. It is now 43-38 overall and leading the Angels in the AL West by a game and a half. The Rangers are 23-16 at home and 20-22 on the road.

The Texas lineup continues to remain productive with the third-best team batting average in the AL at .265. It is also third in runs scored with 380. Adrian Beltre and Michael Young have led the way with a combined 110 RBI.

Matt Harrison will get the start for Texas tonight. The left hander is 6-6 this season with a 3.00 ERA in 14 previous starts. His last time out he pitched seven full inning against the Mets; giving up just earned run on seven hits to get the win.

Houston has now lost five straight and is just 2-8 in its last 10. It has a firm grip on last place in the NL Central with an overall record of 28-53. The Astros have actually played worse at home (13-30) than on the road (15-23) this year.

Hitting has not been the issue for the Astros as they are ranked fifth in the NL with a team batting average of .260. They are tied with Atlanta for ninth in scoring with 321 runs. Unfortunately, pitching has been one as they are ranked 13th in the league with a 4.66 team ERA.

Houston will counter with a left hander of its own as Wandy Rodriguez will be on the mound in this one. His four game winning streak came to an abrupt end last Friday against Tampa Bay after giving up six hits and five earned runs in six inning of work. Rodriguez is now 5-4 with an ERA of 3.21 in 13 starts.

The odds makers have the Texas Rangers as a -1.5 point favorite with an run total of 8.

Prediction: Texas is now 4-1 this season against the Astros and 4-0 as a favorite. The total has been evenly split at 2-2-1. This time around, stick with the Rangers to keep things going against their in-state rival with a win to complete the sweep.
