New York is 5-3 straight-up since pulling off a trade with Denver for Carmelo Anthony including wins in its last two games. Last Sunday the Knicks beat Atlanta 92-79 as a 3 ½-point road underdog and then returned home the next night to knock-off Utah 131-109 as a six-point home favorite. New York is still stuck in sixth-place in the Eastern Conference with an overall record of 33-29 SU. They are 38-22-2 against the spread this season.

Anthony is scoring 25.9 points a game for New York which just slightly higher than his season average. The team has yet to fully benefit from the addition of the other All-Star in this trade, Chauncey Billips, who has been out with a bruised leg and remains questionable for this game. Amar’e Stoudimire still leads the team with 26.3 points and 8.3 rebounds a game.

The Knicks are averaging 108.6 points a game since Anthony joined the team which is a few points higher than their 106.6 season average. They are giving up an average of 105.4 points a game, but have cut this number down to an average of 102.5 points in their last eight games. New York is shooting 46.1 percent from the field and 36.6 percent from three-point range.

Memphis has won three of its last four games including an impressive 104-103 victory over Dallas last Sunday as a 6 ½-point road favorite and a 107-101 win over Oklahoma City as a three-point home favorite this past Monday. The Grizzlies improved their overall record to 36-29 SU and have been especially good ATS with a record of 41-23-1. They are currently clinging to eighth-place in the Western Conference; two games ahead of Phoenix.

Memphis has been able to rally since losing its second leading scorer Rudy Gay due to a shoulder injury in mid-February with guys like Tony Allen, Mike Conley, and Sam Young all picking up the slack in his absence. Zach Randolph remains the driving force behind this team with 20.2 points and 12.9 rebounds a game.

The Grizzlies are the 11th-highest scoring team in the league with 100.1 points a game, while giving up an average of 98.2. They have the ninth-best shooting percentage in the NBA; hitting 46.6 percent of their shots, but are ranked second-to-last from beyond the arc; converting on just 32.9 percent of their attempts.

New York is 4-1 ATS in its last five games on the road and 5-1 ATS in its last six games overall. The total has gone ‘over’ in three of its last five games.

Memphis is 5-1 ATS in its last six home games and 6-1 ATS in its last seven games overall. The total has gone ‘over’ in five of its last six games.

Head-to-head, the Grizzlies have won four of the last six games SU and are 3-2-1 ATS. The total has gone ‘over’ in five of the last six meetings. This will be the first of two meetings this season.

Both teams come into this game playing at a high level especially against the spread. The Knicks should be able to keep this game close late into the fourth, but stick with Memphis to wear them down in the end to cover the 2 ½ -point spread.
