The Lakers had been the hottest team in the NBA after the all-star break until two surprising home losses to Utah and Denver recently. As a result they are looking for their missing offensive game on the road against the Warriors in this one. This is a good place to start given that Golden State gives up more than 105ppg. The Lakers are healthy so it seems that they were just in a funk for the last couple of games, against teams that were highly motivated to win I might add. The Lakers will look to snap out of it on a quick turnaround after yesterday’s loss to Utah. For the record they are a good team to side with on the second game of a back to back (8-4 ATS). The free flow of this game should make the Lakers feel good as they prep for the playoffs.

The Golden State Warriors return home on a two game winning streak, most recently defeating the Portland Trailblazers, fairly impressively, 108-87. For this team it is all about seeing the ball go through the hoop, they prefer a fast pace and can score with any team in the league (and give up points), especially in the backcourt. Guards Monta Ellis and Stephon Curry combined for 58 points against the Blazers while David Lee had a 20-20 game with 29 points and 20 boards. The quickness of the Warriors is the most difficult challenge for the Lakers but if they are not hitting shots it won’t matter. This team, even with Lee upfront is weak in the front court.

The current line on this one is the Los Angeles Lakers as a -6 point favorite with an over/under of 202. If you like LA than that is fair value but if you like the underdog it is a great opportunity I think.

Prediction: I am looking for Golden State to continue their solid play and pull the upset. They are in a groove right now and get the Lakers in a funk.
