2009-2010 Appalachian State Season Preview

Buzz Peterson was reintroduced as ASU coach in late April after seven combined years at Tulsa, Tennessee and Coastal Carolina, plus a two-year stint as director of player personnel for the Charlotte Bobcats. Houston Fancher resigned, but left a smorgasbord of talent as Appalachian returns its starting five plus five others who averaged double figures in minutes. Donald Sims and Kellen Brand form yet another SoCon guard tandem that can nail the three as well as make plays off the dribble. In the post, Josh Hunter and Isaac Butts are strong on the boards as ASU led the conference in rebounding, while Butts also shot 59.4 percent from the floor.
