2010-2011 Ball State Season Preview

Is Ball State ready to make a move upward? Four starters returning indicate there’s a distinct possibility, although the Cardinals appeared uncomfortable when the West Division championship dangled before their eyes late last season. They will try to avoid another late-season collapse behind guard Randy Davis, the team’s top outside threat who blossomed as a sophomore. Working inside is junior center Jarrod Jones, who didn’t improve as much as anticipated, but managed to turn in a solid season. Offense has been up-and-down for the Cardinals: They finished with fewer than 50 points five times in their first 13 games against Division I opponents. But if they find another complementary scorer, the Cardinals could waltz to the West Division crown.
