Butler Bulldogs vs UTEP Miners Preview & Prediction
Butler has the talent but stumbled out of the gate. Since then they have lived up to the promise led by NBA bound Hayward. He shoots at ease from inside or with the three. Veasley has shut down better players, can move well, and is coming into his own. If Howard can stay in the game, he will provide the boost to take them over the top. Nored can be a leader, and needs to stop passing as much and help lead the offense.
The Miners suffered a shocking loss to Houston. If it served as a motivator the defense will carry them through. Culpepper can shoot but plays a bit lazy. Overall it’s a bunch of athletes who need to stay in the game mentally. Without a huge scorer, they need to rely on ball movement and not fall in love with three point shots. Avoid the foul and the defense will decide the outcome.
The odds makers have the Bulldogs as -3 -point favorites.
I expect Butler to win this one with their stingy defense on their way to a dance at the sweet sixteen.
