College of Charleston Players to Watch: Incoming frosh James Carlton is a three-star power forward. His father was recruited by Cremins at Appalachian State in the 1970s.

College of Charleston Key Losses: Casaan Breeden, F, 6-8, 200 (7.8 ppg, 5.1 rpg); Tony White, Jr., G, 6-0, 150 (12.3 ppg, 3.1 apg)

2010-2011 College of Charleston Season Preview

The Cougars are coming off their third season of 20-plus wins in four years under venerable Bobby Cremins, and the 29-year veteran returns three key starters in Andrew Goudelock, Donavan Monroe and Jeremy Simmons. Goudelock led the team in scoring while finishing second in the SoCon. Even with his scoring prowess, he is excellent at distributing the ball, which was key to the Cougars leading the league in assist-to-turnover ratio. He led the team in 3-pointers as well, and Monroe will be asked to step up in that realm with Tony White’s departure. Simmons was Cremins’ leading rebounder and shot 59.7 percent from the floor in 31.1 minutes per game. Willis Hall should be a key candidate to step up beside Simmons in the paint.
