Detroit Players to Watch: The incoming recruits, led by freshman Ray McCallum Jr. Two others – Nick Minnerath and Chris Blake – might break into the starting lineup as well.

Detroit Key Losses: Xavier Keeling, F, 6-7, 235 (12.4 ppg, 4.9 rpg); Thomas Kennedy, F, 6-7, 210 (11.2 ppg, 4.5 rpg); Woody Payne, G, 5-11, 165 (5.5 ppg, 3.6 rpg)

2010-2011 Detroit Season Preview

Following the best turnaround in school history – 13 more victories than in 2008-09 – the Titans augmented an already transfer-heavy roster with 6-8 forward Nick Minnerath and 6-5 guard Chris Blake, both junior college All-Americans. And they weren’t the best signees. That honor goes to coach Ray McCallum’s son, Ray Jr., a 6-1 McDonald’s and Parade All-America. His arrival takes the sting out of Xavier Keeling leaving after one year. At least rebounding sensation Eli Holman and scoring threat Chase Simon return. Detroit won 20 or more games in four consecutive seasons (including 25 in three of them), ending in 2001. That kind of success could be coming again.
