2009-2010 Eastern Washington Season Preview

Now is the time for the Eagles to take a step forward. It’s year three in coach Kirk Earlywine’s tenure in Cheney, and he has the players to make a statement. Three starters return, including two of the conference’s best in guard Benny Valentine, a 5-7 blur who was EWU’s top scorer last year, and 6-9 post Brandon Moore, who led the club in rebounding. Big power forward Mark Dunn is another returning starter. Add a large and talented recruiting class and on paper, this should be the year the Eagles get at least into the conference tournament, something they haven’t done the past three seasons.
