2009-2010 Florida Atlantic Season Preview
Mike Jarvis’ first foray back into coaching in five years couldn’t have gone much worse. The preseason conference Player of the Year, Carlos Monroe, missed 20 games due to an eligibility issue and a foot injury. Xavier Perkins, the team’s second-best player through the first eight games, was suspended for academic reasons (and has since transferred). Even with senior guard Paul Graham III (second-team) shouldering the bulk of the scoring load, the Owls went 0-18 on the road and finished three games worse than any team in the conference. With five returning players having made at least 12 starts and Jarvis fielding another dynamite recruiting class, expect Florida Atlantic to be markedly improved.
