2009-2010 Georgia Southern Season Preview

Former Eagle Charlton Young succeeds Jeff Price after six successful stops as an assistant coach, including twice at Auburn and Georgia Tech. Reconfiguring a defense that gave up 78.8 points per game and allowed opponents to shoot 47.3 percent from the floor will be among Young’s first priorities. Georgia Southern has some versatile guards in Antonio Hanson and Ben Drayton III, while Willie Powers should add a good inside-outside presence after recovering from a season-ending knee injury last year. The Eagles’ roster lacks productive big men, so newcomers Cameron Baskerville and Rory Spencer should join Sandy Perry and Colby Wohlleb to form much-needed depth in the paint.
