2010-2011 Hofstra Season Preview

Former Providence coach Tim Welsh was hired when Tom Pecora moved to Fordham after finishing his ninth year with the Pride. However, Welsh resigned after a drunk-driving arrest in late April and former Boston College assistant Mo Cassara assumed the reigns. Cassara has the luxury of coaching one of the league’s best all-around players in guard Charles Jenkins, who was second in the CM in scoring while shooting 40.9 percent from 3-point land. Jenkins will line up with a pair of senior starters in forward Greg Washington and swingman Nathaniel Lester. Washington was the second leading rebounder and blocked 92 shots last season. Chaz Williams’ stock could rise quickly as he was the team’s second-leading scorer last year as a freshman while averaging 31.7 minutes per game. The key for Williams is to improve on a 37.2 percent shooting mark.
