2010-2011 Iona Season Preview

New coach Tim Cluess, who was 98-23 in his tenure at Division II C.W. Post, inherits an experienced roster from the Seton Hall-bound Kevin Willard. Point guard Scott Machado is among the league’s best, though defense is how Willard got this program turned around. There figures to be an adjustment period as players who were used to Willard’s micro-managed half-court defense adjust to a new system and Cluess gets his feet wet in Division 1. But the personnel is in place for some early success – maybe quite a bit, especially with some of the league’s recent frontrunners rebuilding
