2009-2010 Louisiana Monroe Season Preview

In 2008-09, ULM wasn’t expected to do much – and it didn’t, winning 10 games for the second consecutive season and losing at Denver in the first round of the conference tournament. Star senior Tony Hooper missed all but four games, and the point-guard situation being a disaster hardly helped. Malcolm Thomas, the team leader in scoring, steals and 3-pointers, and Rudy Turner, the team’s top rebounder and shot-blocker, return with the other three starters and sixth man Dynile Forbes. But a loaded recruiting class will need to come through since reserves Mitchell Hampton and Reggie Lassiter have transferred. Hooper was granted a fifth year of eligibility on a medical hardship.
