2009-2010 Manhattan Season Preview
Excitement about Manhattan’s best season under Barry Rohrssen was tempered by the conclusion. The Jaspers lost their final two regular-season games and then fell to Fairfield in the MAAC Tournament quarterfinals. But the program returns core players in Darryl Crawford and Antoine Pearson, and expectations figure to be high for Rico Pickett, a highly touted junior college transfer. Crawford and Pearson, both seniors, will be counted on to make up for the losses of Devon Austin, who exhausted his eligibility, and Chris Smith, who transferred. Rohrssen is starting to build some depth; he may be able to bring upperclassmen off the bench.
