2010-2011 St. Mary’s Season Preview

The Gaels survived the departure of Patty Mills just fine – with a Sweet 16 appearance and the best season in school history. Mustering that kind of magic again may be against the odds, but they should still be OK even without the glibbest Gael, big Omar Samhan. The new focal point inside will be Creighton transfer Kenton Walker II, but the Gaels will also be wicked on the edges with point guard Mickey McConnell (a 51 percent 3-point shooter), Matthew Dellavedova and promising Jorden Page. It’s a must to choke them off beyond the arc, where their accuracy improved seven full percentage points last season.
