2009-2010 Tennessee Martin Season Preview
After the best season in school history, Tennessee Martin is in rebuilding mode. Gone is All-American guard Lester Hudson, drafted by the Boston Celtics after being the country’s second-leading scorer. Also gone is coach Bret Campbell, who resigned this past summer over a financial complication regarding his summer camps. In his place is Jason Jones, a former Tennessee Martin assistant in his first season as a head coach. At 31, Jones is the second youngest coach in Division I and inherits a team that capped last season with an NIT appearance and returns three starters. So it isn’t all gloom and doom for the Skyhawks. The most notable returnee is guard Marquis Weddle.
