2010-2011 Tennessee Martin Season Preview
It was from first to worst for Tennessee Martin. After the best season in school history, one in which the Skyhawks won 22 games and went to the NIT, the bottom fell out with just four victories in 2009-10 – all at home. It was a humbling year for Jason Jones, one of the youngest coaches in Division I, and then it was compounded when guard Marquis Weddle, the team’s leading scorer at nearly 16 points per game, was dismissed for a violation of team rules. Guard Benzor Simmons does return after averaging 13.6 points per game last season. Jones is also rebuilding and signed seven newcomers, all of whom are expected to contribute immediately.
