Toledo Coach: Tod Kowalczyk – At Toledo: first year; overall: 136-112, 8 years

Toledo Players to Watch: Mouhamed Lo was suspended by Gene Cross in late January and then sat out the rest of the . season, but has been given a clean slate by Kowalczyk.

Toledo Key Losses: Jake Barnett, G, 6-5, 190 (12.9 ppg, 4.3 rpg); Jordan Dressler, F, 6-8, 255 (6.1 ppg, 4.4 rpg); Larry Bastfield, G, 5-11, 190 (3.8 ppg, 3.3 apg)

2010-2011 Toledo Season Preview

Struggles on and off the court, four-win seasons and coaches fired after just two seasons are elements the good folks at Toledo just aren’t comfortable with. Gene Cross is gone; Tod Kowalczyk has been hired to rebuild the program … and it’s riot going to be easy. Cross didn’t recruit enough Division I caliber talent to make the team competitive and 11 wins over two seasons is proof of that. Two of Cross’ best recruits, Jake Barnett and Jordan Dressler – the top two scorers last season – are no longer in the program. Senior Justin Anyijong is back and playing for his third coach in four seasons. Naturally, Kowalczyk loaded up on newcomers and shooting guard Reese Holliday and center Delino Dear will play early and often.
