2009-2010 Towson Season Preview
Veteran coach Pat Kennedy enters his sixth season at Towson with a junior-laden team that should make progress if multiple potential offensive threats develop. Josh Thornton averaged 10.9 points per game, but shot only 38.6 percent from the floor. It was indicative of what plagued the team, as Towson shot only 40.6 percent overall, 10th in the CAA. Kennedy will look to Robert Nwankwo and Jarrel Smith to pick up for departed Junior Hairston on the inside. Nwankwo came on as a starter late in the season and played a key role in leading the Tigers’ run to the CAA semifinals.
