Towson Key Losses: Calvin Lee, F, 6-8, 215 (10.6 ppg, 5.3 rpg); Josh Thornton, G, 6-2, 175 (11.4 ppg, 2.0 rpg)

2010-2011 Towson Season Preview

The Tigers didn’t shoot the ball well and were last in the CAA in rebound margin. Meanwhile, opponents shot 46.1 percent from the floor and dished 519 assists. Tightening perimeter defense is a must if Towson is to escalate in a conference that is less forgiving each year. Coach Pat Kennedy also loses his two leading scorers in Josh Thornton and Calvin Lee; however, the Tigers’ scoring attack was so balanced that players stepping up to maintain that balance is conceivable. Robert Nwankwo could be a major force inside after he shot 55 percent from the floor and led the Tigers on the boards and in blocked shots last year. The floor leadership of frugal ballhandlers Troy Franklin and Brian Morris is of major importance.
