2010-2011 UC Davis Season Preview

The Aggies made their deepest ever foray into the conference tournament – losing to eventual champ UCSB in the semifinals – and are capable of a comparable run when the tourney changes Anaheim locales (from the Anaheim Convention Center to the Honda Center) in March. Of course, the quality of tourney and regular-season performances depend largely upon the health of multi-skilled Mark Payne, who underwent shoulder surgery last spring and was due to be cleared for on-court action late in the summer. Gary Stewart’s best freshman class will provide, at the very least, quality depth. Post players Alex Tiffin and Josh Ritchart were among California’s most underrated preps.
