2010-2011 UC Irvine Season Preview
Russell Turner was hired away from the Golden State Warriors, but stints on the staffs of Dave Odom (at Wake Forest in the Tim Duncan era) and Mike Montgomery (at Stanford) had to Look nifty on the resume. Pat Douglass left him three starters, including Eric Wise. Wise scored nearly 1,000 points over a couple of all-conference seasons. In early July, Turner picked up a Northern California prep star in guard Chris McNealy, whose dad was a San Jose State standout and spent three years with the Knicks. Once committed to Saint Mary’s, McNealy could push for a starter’s job sooner than later. How much support Wise is given from the other post slot will help dictate the team’s success.
