vs.

#15 Georgia Tech @ Kansas – 12:00 PM ET

There was no bigger stinker than Kansas in maybe the entire country last weekend as the Jayhawks kicked off the Turner Gill era with a 6-3 loss to FCS opponent North Dakota State. Yes, the Fightin’ Bison. And guess who comes to town now? The option-heavy offense of Georgia Tech, which should turn Lawrence’s Memorial Stadium into a track meet. Oh yeah, and KU has already switched starting QBs, from Kale Pick to Jordan Webb.

Prediction: Georgia Tech 28, Kansas 0 – Bet Now

Odds: Georgia Tech: -13.5 – Kansas: +13.5 Over/Under: 49

vs.

Idaho at #6 Nebraska – 12:30 PM ET

Nobody knew who was going to Nebraska’s starting QB until he trotted out on the field last Saturday, and everybody is happy now that it’s Taylor Martinez. The freshman QB showed he can run like Husker QBs of old and can throw if need be. Might be the breakout start in the Big 12 this season. Vandals aren’t that bad, but playing at Lincoln will make mice of men.

Prediction: Nebraska 35, Idaho 7 – Bet Now

Odds: Idaho: +28 – Nebraska: -28 Over/Under: 53.5

vs.

Colorado @ California – 3:30 PM ET

The Dan Hawkins Countdown to Firing continues at California, where the Buffaloes travel to play a future, fellow Pac 10 opponent. Colorado looked impressive in its season opener with a 24-3 win over rival Colorado State … and we think they’ll keep it up as they’re playing for their coach’s job. And California just has too many question marks on offense. Big road win for the Buffs here.

Prediction: Colorado 21, California 20 – Bet Now

Odds: Colorado: +10 – California: -10 Over/Under: 50.5

vs.

#17 Florida State @ #10 Oklahoma – 3:30 PM ET on ABC

Feels like a late 1980s matchup right here!!! Oklahoma surprisingly struggled with Utah State last weekend, but you can blame a lot of that on looking past the Aggies to this game. Florida State has a nice team for the first time in 5-6 years and a road win here could propel them to bigger and better things. Sooners’ biggest problem is at quarterback, where Landry Jones just isn’t up to snuff.

Prediction: Florida State 14, Oklahoma 10 – Bet Now

Odds: Florida State: +7 – Oklahoma: -7 Over/Under: 58

vs.

Iowa State @ #9 Iowa – 3:30 PM ET on ABC

Hawkeyes have legitimate Big 10 title and BCS hopes this year, and will be up and ready to pound the living daylights out of the Cyclones at Iowa City. Iowa State struggled mightily to beat Northenr Iowa last weekend and this could get ugly.

Prediction: Iowa 35, Iowa State 7 – Bet Now

Odds: Iowa State: -14 – Iowa: +14 Over/Under: 45

vs.

McNeese State @ Missouri – 7:00 PM ET

Missouri showed it wasn’t ready to give up on its season last weekend by rallying to beat Illinois in the wake of leading rusher and team captain Derrick Washington getting thrown off the team just days before. This game gets them out of the pressure-cooker for a bit before what could be a disheartening Big 12 season begins.

Prediction: Missouri 52, McNeese State 14 – Bet Now

vs.

Troy @ Oklahoma State – 7:00 PM ET

Don’t forget that Troy won this game just a couple of years ago and has steadily pumped out NFL players for the better part of the last decade. Still, mid-major teams going on the road to beat high majors is still virtually unheard of, but feel sure that the Cowboys can win this game. But not by too much.

Prediction: Oklahoma State 31, Troy 21 – Bet Now

Odds: Troy: +14 – Oklahoma State: -14 Over/Under: 63

vs.

Buffalo @ Baylor – 7:00 PM ET

Bears get another chance for QB Robert Griffin to test out his surgically-repaired knee in a game situation, although this time there is something on the line as Baylor is shooting for its first 2-0 start since 2005. That’s a big deal in Waco. Griffin used to be a running QB and now he seems to be more inclined to stay in the pocket, which is a sign of maturity.

Prediction: Baylor 34, Buffalo 17 – Bet Now

Odds: Buffalo: +16 – Baylor: -16 Over/Under: 52

vs.

Louisiana Tech @ Texas A&M – 7:00 PM ET

Texas A&M has one of the most exciting quarterbacks in the country in Jerrod Johnson, and this year is his coming-out party as a lot of pundits have the Aggies as a team that could make some noise in the Big 12 South – they might be able to finish third. Low expectations, high results!

Prediction: Texas A&M 40, Louisiana Tech 21 – Bet Now

Odds: Texas A&M: -20 – Texas A&M: +20 Over/Under: 61.5

vs.

Missouri State @ Kansas State – 7:10 PM ET

Kansas State gutted out a win over UCLA in its opener last week behind running backs Daniel Thomas (235 yards, 2 TDs) and backup William Powell (72 yards on 6 carries, 1 TD). Expect coach Bill Snyder to try and air it out to get some confidence for lame-duck quarterback Carson Coffman, but to put it on the ground for Thomas and Powell early. Wildcats roll here.

Prediction: Kansas State 52, Missouri State 7 – Bet Now

vs.

Texas Tech @ New Mexico – 8:00 PM ET

New Mexico was the laughingstock of college football last week with its 72-0 loss to Oregon, and that kind of defeat is impossible to recover from. Don’t expect the Lobos to win a game this year, and don’t expect them to even play many close. Red Raiders look solid on defense and QB Taylor Potts was solid as could be in first week. This will be ugly.

Prediction: Texas Tech 42, New Mexico 3 – Bet Now

Odds: Texas Tech: -24.5 – New Mexico: +24.5 Over/Under: 56

vs.

Wyoming @ No. 5 Texas – 3:30 PM ET

Nobody has a tougher schedule in the nation than Wyoming, which plays four Top 20 teams in the first six weeks of the season, with four of those in the Top 5. Mack Brown desperately wants to re-establish the Longhorns’ running game after several years relying on former QB Colt McCoy as the go-to back. That’s not ideal.

Prediction: Texas 28, Wyoming 7 – Bet Now

Odds: Wyoming: -28.5 – Texas: +28.5 Over/Under: 51
