vs.

Kansas @ Southern Miss – 8:00 PM ET on ESPN

Yes, Kansas lost to an FCS team (North Dakota State) in Week 1. Yes, they beat the potential ACC champion (No. 15 Georgia Tech) in Week 2. Now the question is what KU team will show up in Hattiesburg Friday? This Jayhawks team and new quarterback Jordan Webb has a tremendous amount of momentum and seem poised for the victory.

Prediction: Kansas 28, Southern Miss 24 – Bet Now

Odds: Kansas: +6 – Southern Miss: -6 Over/Under: 51.5

vs.

Iowa State vs. Kansas State – 12:00 PM ET

Faramageddon II hits Arrowhead Stadium, and last year’s win, as sad as it may be, was probably the signature victory for the Wildcats in 2009. The Cyclones looked terrible in their blowout loss to Iowa last weekend and Kansas State seemed completely unsatisfied with a blowout win over Missouri State. Oh, and the Wildcats have arguably the best running back in the nation in Daniel Thomas, who has proven unstoppable so far.

Prediction: Kansas State 35, Iowa State 14 – Bet Now

Odds: Kansas State: -4 – Iowa State: +4 Over/Under: 51.5

vs.

Hawaii @ Colorado – 3:30 PM ET

Penn State learned something last week – they are not a BCS contender. They are better than any team in the MAC and will cruise to victory this week against the Golden Flashes. QB Bolden will remind us why we thought the Nittany Lions could have upset Alabama.

Prediction: Hawaii 21, Colorado 7 – Bet Now

Odds: Hawaii: +12.5 – Colorado: 112.5 Over/Under: 55.5

vs.

#8 Nebraska @ Washington – 3:30 PM on ABC

A delicious afternoon treat for college football fans. The maturation of Nebraska quarterback Taylor Martinez through just two games has Husker fans salivating, and he gets the first true test of his college career here after a pair of warm-up wins in Lincoln. Washington quarterback Jake Locker is potentially the No. 1 pick in next year’s NFL Draft, and he gets to put his skills on display here in the early-season upset.

Prediction: Washington 20, Nebraska 17 – Bet Now

Odds: Washington: -3 – Nebraska: +3 Over/Under: 53

vs.

Air Force @ #7 Oklahoma- 3:30 PM ET

Oklahoma quarterback Landry Jones went from a shaky start in the Sooners’ win over Utah State in Week 1 to looking like Sam Bradford in the Week 2 blowout victory over Florida State. The combination of NFL Types all over the field on defense along with Jones, running back DeMarco Murray and a veteran offensive line on the other side of the ball make the Sooners impossible to deal with for Air Force. BOOMER SOONER!!!

Prediction: Oklahoma 42, Air Force 17 – Bet Now

Odds: Oklahoma: -17 – Air Force: +17 Over/Under: 54.5

vs.

Baylor @ #4 TCU – 4:30 PM ET

What an interesting juxtaposition of schools in the football-crazy state of Texas. On one side you have the major conference school that’s never been any good at football. On the other side you have the mid-major team that seems to always be ranked. Expect the Horned Frogs to absolutely pile it on in this opportunity to stick it to one of their neighboring, large-college brethren. Hopefully the Bears can figure out a way to spare the health of quarterback Robert Griffin. Maybe not let him run so much?

Prediction: TCU 28, Baylor 0 – Bet Now

Odds: TCU: -21.5 – Baylor: +21.5 Over/Under: 54

vs.

San Diego State @ Missouri – 7:00 PM ET

A matchup of two undefeated teams means something in Columbia this weekend, the Aztecs aren’t a bad team at all, but they will have a hard time matching up with the Tigers, who have bonded after the booting of senior running back and captain Derrick Washington. Missouri quarterback Blaine Gabbert looks like he could be one of the best in the Big 12, if not the nation, and Henry Josey is picking up the slack in the Tigers’ running game.

Prediction: Missouri 31, San Diego State 24 – Bet Now

Odds: Missouri: -14 – San Diego State: +14 Over/Under: 57.5

vs.

Tulsa @ Oklahoma State – 7:00 PM ET

This used to be a great rivalry back in the day, and it’s nice that it is coming back up once again now that both teams are decent. That being said, the Cowboys have a legitimate Heisman candidate in running back Kendall Hunter. Tulsa has the nation’s leading passer in CJ Kinnie, who runs an offense many think can score with anybody in the country. Only problem is the Golden Hurricane can’t defend.

Prediction: Oklahoma State 40, Tulsa 28 – Bet Now

Odds: Oklahoma State: -7 – Tulsa: +7 Over/Under: 69

vs.

Florida Internatinal @ Texas A&M – 7:00 PM ET

The Aggies want to clean up some things before the schedule grows fangs when they open Big 12 play on Sept. 30 at Oklahoma State, the start of what they hope is a run towards the Big 12 south title. QB Jerrod Johnson and A&M’s high-powered offense average more than 550 yards a game – fifth in the nation – and they think they can be much better. And that’s after scoring 48 points in each of their first two games.

Prediction: Texas A&M 55, FIU 14 – Bet Now

Odds: Texas A&M: -28 – FIU: +28 Over/Under: 59.5

vs.

#6 Texas @ Texas Tech – 8:00 PM ET on ABC

The most intriguing matchup for the Big 12 on Saturday features the unsteady-so-far Longhorns traveling back to Lubbock, where they saw their national title hopes fall apart two years ago. Mack Brown has shown little patience in dealing with what is an anemic running game where no back has set himself apart from the pack (3.1 yards per carry) or underperforming quarterback Garrett Gilbert. Texas can win this one, thought, through defense and special teams.

Prediction: Texas 21, Texas Tech 17 – Bet Now

Odds: Texas: -3.5 – Texas Tech: +3.5 Over/Under: 51
