Another good matchup to watch for, if but for nothing but rivalry purposes, will be Iowa State at No. 9 Iowa, also a game you can see on ABC. Listed pointspreads are provided by Sportsbook.com.

vs.

UCF @ Kansas State – 12:30 PM ET

The biggest risk for Kansas State here is overlooking the Golden Knights and thinking about a possible showdown between two undefeated when Nebraska travels to Manhattan next Thursday. However, this team has shown it has no problem focusing on the present and should be able to focus on the task at hand, which means handing the ball to star running back Daniel Thomas (30-plus carries, easy) and praying quarterback Carson Coffman doesn’t screw up too much. Coffman’s ineptitude keeps it close.

Prediction: Kansas State by 10 – Bet Now

Odds: UCF: +7 – Kansas State: -7 Over/Under: 45

vs.

Miami (OH) @ Missouri – 2:00 PM ET

Missouri survived a huge scare last week at home from San Diego State, and won’t have star defensive end Aldous Smith (broken leg) for at least a month. Won’t matter against a MAC opponent as the Tigers get one final tune-up before diving headfirst into Big 12 play.

Prediction: Missouri by 21 – Bet Now

Odds: Miami (OH): +18 – Missourie: -18 Over/Under: 52.5

vs.

UCLA @ #7 Texas – 3:30 PM ET on ABC

The Bruins are terrible, and don’t read too much into their “upset” of Houston last week, as the Cougars played without All-American QB Case Keenum. The Longhorns are still trying to work a few kinks out, and they’ll get another chance to reboot their running game against a middling Pac 10 team before next week’s Red River rivalry against Oklahoma. Texas quarterback Garrett Gilbert seems like he’s slowly getting better.

Prediction: Texas by 14 – Bet Now

Odds: UCLA: +15.5 – Texas: -15.5 Over/Under: 43

vs.

#8 Oklahoma @ Cincinnati – 6:00 PM on ESPN2

Surely the Sooners thought this would be a better game when it was originally scheduled. It now isn’t, as Cincy coach Brian Kelly jumped ship to Notre Dame in the offseason and recruits are now staying away from the Bearcats in droves. Oklahoma has some serious problems on defense and needs a solid outing here before they get Texas next week.

Prediction: Oklahoma by 20 – Bet Now

Odds: Oklahoma: -15.5 – Cincinnati: +15.5 Over/Under: 52

vs.

Northern Iowa @ Iowa State – 7:00 PM ET

Okay Cyclones, you get a break here after deflating losses to in-state rival Iowa and to Kansas State at Arrowhead Stadium. Then it’s back to getting smashed by your Big 12 brethren. Happy Saturday!

Prediction: Iowa State by 21 – Bet Now

vs.

New Mexico State @ Kansas – 7:00 PM ET

Will the real Jayhawks please stand up? Kansas followed up its shocking upset of No. 15 Georgia Tech by laying an egg in a loss at Southern Miss, where they looked like it was the first time they’d ever played football. Expect Turner Gill to get his team back on track at home against a terrible opponent, and get some confidence back.

Prediction: Kansas by 24 – Bet Now

Odds: New Mexico State: +21.5 – Kansas: -21.5 Over/Under: 48

vs.

South Dakota State @ #6 Nebraska – 7:00 PM ET

Don’t expect the starters for the Huskers, including emerging superstar quarterback Taylor Martinez, to get more than two quarters of action here, with a possible cameo for a series in the second half. It’s homecoming at Lincoln, and the party will be on against an FCS opponent.

Prediction: Nebraska by 50 – Bet Now

vs.

Baylor @ Rice – 8:00 PM ET

This one could be called The Battle for Middling Texas High School Recruits That Get Good Grades. Seriously. The two braintrusts of academia in the state go head-to-head here and only Baylor has legitimate bowl hopes. They need this win and a few breaks in their Big 12 schedule for that to happen, but this is a good start.

Prediction: Baylor by 20 – Bet Now

Odds: Baylor: -7.5 – Rice: +7.5 Over/Under: 54
