As we enter the 13th week of 2010 PAC-10 college football season, we enter bowl-elimination week. Oregon, Stanford, and Arizona are on the list of 11 teams still contending for berths in BCS bowl games, so there are still some big games still left to play.

Before we get into this week’s match ups, let’s take a look how the PAC-10 bowl race shapes up.

The only way Oregon doesn’t win the PAC-10, is if it drops its final two games. Therefore, a win over the Wildcats means the Ducks grab a second consecutive Rose Bowl appearance.

However, if they should lose one of their two final games, they most likely would be eliminated from appearing in the national title game, and would rather be crowned PAC-10 co-champions with Stanford, if the Cardinal win their home finale on Saturday.

Still, the Ducks would head to the Rose Bowl due to the head-to-head tiebreaker victory over Stanford.

Stanford is guaranteed at worst second place even if it loses to the Beavers because it only has one conference loss and every other conference team has at least three.

vs.

UCLA (4-6, 2-5) at Arizona State (4-6, 2-5), 3:30 p.m., FSN

This has bowl-emilnation ramifications written all over it. Both teams will need a win to have a shot at postseason play.

The Bruins’ will get a boost offensively as QB Richard Brehaut is good to go after getting knocked out of the Washington game with a concussion. A game they looked absolutely pitiful in. Even with Brehaut the offense is sputtering, and if the Huskies’ weak defense shut them down, I just don’t see things getting any better against a more tenacious Sun Devils defense at home.

Meanwhile, ASU should have no problem having their way with UCLA’s D. The Sun Devils may have been blown out at California, but a week ago, they played a seriously competitive game with Stanford.

Prediction: Arizona State – Bet Now

Odds: UCLA: +13 – Arizona State : -13 Over/Under: 48.5

vs.

No. 21 Arizona (7-3, 4-3) at No. 1 Oregon (10-0, 7-0), 7 p.m., ESPN

The two biggest games in Oregon history are coming up. Should Oregon win this weekend, which I have little doubt they will not, they would clinch a BCS bowl berth. Nothing is a gimme however, as witnessed in last week’s 15-13 dogfight between Oregon at Cal. The Wildcats are much more solid defensively than the Golden Bears, faster and possesses standout QB Nick Foles.

Arizona dropped a close one to USC its last time out, falling behind early and coming up short on a late rally. Something they cannot afford to do against the Ducks, who if they do, will bury them.

The Wildcats have the rest advantage coming off a bye week, but the Ducks will be looking to prove something in front of the home crowd in preparation for next week’s Civil War Game at rivals Oregon State.

Prediction: Oregon – Bet Now

Odds: Arizona : +19.5 – Oregon : -19.5 Over/Under: 62.5

vs.

Washington (4-6, 3-4) at California (5-6, 3-5), 3:30 p.m., CSN CA

The Huskies showed a little life, and what might be a little last minute hoorah as they whipped UCLA on Thursday to end their three-game losing streak.

Now they are playing for their lives in what appears to be the second PAC-10 bowl-elimination game of the week.

Quarterback and Heisman hopeful bust Jake Locker, will no doubt want to repeat last year’s performance in which he lead his Huskies to a dominating 42-10 win over the Golden Bears.

Cal is a different team at home — at least until being blown out by Stanford last weekend — but can its offense get on track? They will lean hard on RB Shane Vereen.

If one thing can be gleaned from last week’s loss, it’s that backup quarterback Brock Mansion is getting better with the short passing game and is making progress at sustaining drives.

Prediction: California – Bet Now

Odds: Washington: +7 – California: -7 Over/Under: 50

vs.

Oregon State (5-5, 4-3) at Stanford (10-1, 7-1), 7:30 p.m., Versus

While Stanford needed a last-second field goal to edge out the Trojans, the Beavers dominated the boys from Troy from start to finish. Significant? Probably not.

The Beavers could become bowl-eligible with a win over a Cardinal team they completely destroyed just one year ago in Corvallis. However, that Stanford team was much different than this year’s that is still smelling roses.

While most think of Luck and his Cardinal offense, the real story behind the team’s success has been its much-improved defense. Through 11 games, the Cardinal has 14 interceptions, 24 total turnovers, and 24 sacks, and over the last four games, has held opponents to just 11.3 points per game.

Prediction: Stanford – Bet Now

Odds: Oregon State: +14 – Stanford: -14 Over/Under: 57

vs.

Notre Dame (5-5) at USC (7-4), 8 p.m., ABC

USC QB Matt Barkley will likely be watching from the sideline as his Trojans try to make it nine wins in a row over the Fighting Irish.

USC backup QB Mitch Mustain didn’t look good in relief last time out either, completing 8 of 17 passes for 60 yards.

Looking like they were well on their way to a 10-win season, USC was hammered by Oregon State a week ago and are appearing to finish more like 8-5 as they prepare to host a resurgent Notre Dame team that is coming off back-to-back wins over No. 14 Utah, followed by a dominating performance over Army last weekend, with a combined 55-6 over that span.

The Golden Domers are already bowl-eligible, but if they beat the Trojans and get to 7-5, they could upgrade their bowl options, while USC, of course, can’t play in a bowl game. It’s only motivations are pride and retaining the Jeweled Shillelagh.

Is the motivation factor enough?

Prediction: Notre Dame – Bet Now

Odds: Notre Dame: +3.5 – USC: -3.5 Over/Under: 50
