Stanford, Utah and Washington State are off this week, but the Pac-12 schedule heats up with only one nonconference game.

The Cardinal seem to be the team to beat so far, and were dominant in their first legitimate division test of the season, winning its now-nation-leading 11th in a row.

Meanwhile, PAC 12 newcomer Utah smoked BYU in a stunning blowout that rattled the odds makers last week, while Washington State appears to have list its steez after two games.

Bur how will the rest of the decision shape up? Let’s take a look at this week’s matchups to get glimpse of how this Saturday’s outcomes could go a long way in shaping the division this early in the season.

vs.

Colorado at Ohio State – 3:30 PM ET on ABC

After being routed by Hawaii, Colorado followed, falling to Cal in a heart wrenching over time loss, but showed progress on both sides of the ball while beating Colorado State. Meanwhile, Ohio State who started the season by beating a pair of “other” Ohio teams, turned in a paltry performance at Miami that previously lost to Maryland, managing only a pair of field goals in a 24-6 loss. Nothing in that game suggested that the Buckeyes were unbeatable, especially an anemic offense that completed just four passes for 35 yards. Still, the the Horseshoe is a vicious place to play, and the Buffaloes haven’t won a true road game since 2007.

Prediction: Ohio State 38, Colorado 14 – Bet Now

Odds: Ohio State: -15 – Colorado: +15 Over/Under: 44.5

vs.

UCLA @ Oregon State – 3:30 PM ET

Both teams are on the ropes and have been going round-and-round on the quarterback carousal, and the winner of this matchup will still have hope, while the loser, well…doesn’t. While the Bruins only win came against lowly San Jose State, the Beavers 0-2 start seems to be much more ominous with after losing their opener to disheveled Sacramento State before being shut out 35-0 at Wisconsin. The loss marked the second time in four games going back to last season that the Beavers have been held off the scoreboard. But there is good news. The Beavers didn’t lose this weekend. The better news. Tight end Joe Halahuni and receiver James Rodgers may be healthy enough to make their season debuts on Saturday. Still, UCLA does have a win, hasn’t lost to an FCS team, and hasn’t been shut out.

Odds: UCLA: +4 – Oregon State: -4 Over/Under: 50

vs.

California @ Washington – 3:30 PM

This game is shaping up to be an early-season separation game in the Pac-12 North, with the winner being the potential No. 3 team behind Oregon and Stanford. Both teams have received surprising impressive performances from their quarterbacks. Washington’s Keith Price has cashed in with 11 TDs already this season while the G-Bears Zach Maynard has nine touchdowns on 724 yards. While Cal’s 63-12 win over Presbyterian was imposing, no one still knows how good the Bears will stack up against a higher caliber team. The same goes for the Huskies who after starting the season 2-0, lost to No. 11 Nebraska, 51-38, in a wild game in which the teams combined for 884 yards of offense. It would seem that Price will face a much better defense than Maynard in this one, something that will be a primary concern for Washington.

Prediction: California 45, Washington 35 – Bet Now

Odds: California : +1 – Washington: -1 Over/Under: 58.5

vs.

#23 USC @ Arizona State – 10:15 PM ET on ESPN

Being ineligible for the postseason didn’t stop the No. 23 USC Trojans from flexing their muscles in a 38-17 win over Syracuse their last time out, but now they will face an Arizona State Sun Devil team that will be looking to put their loss to Illinois behind them, by beating USC for the first time in their last 11 meetings. With USC out of postseason contention, the Devils have established themselves as the team to beat in the South Division with an extraordinary nonconference win over Missouri. This game will be a battle of quarterbacks and likely won with the aerial assault as an experienced Matt Barkley faces off against ASU’s rising phenom, Brock Osweiler. The Trojans hung on to a 34-33 win last season, and I expect them to grab their first road win of 2011 in this one .

Prediction: USC 31, ASU 28 – Bet Now

Odds: USC: +3 – ASU: -3 Over/Under: 54

vs.

#10 Oregon @ Arizona – 10:15 PM ET on ESPN2

After losing to LSU in their opener, the Ducks offense found its mojo and whopped its next two lesser foes into submission, outscoring them 125-27. And to boot they haven’t had a turnover in 120 minutes of football. Now the real test begins, as the Ducks play its Pac-12 opener at Arizona who have been pounded by a pair of top-10 teams. However, the Wildcats have still flashed just enough potential to suggest this team is good enough to beat quality opponents. But can their defense contain an Oregon offense that is averaging nearly 8-yards every time they run a play, and have 21 TDS, good enough for second in the nation? Probably not giving up nearly 40 points in their last two contests to top 10 ranked teams. They way I see it. The Cat’s hang tough in this one but fade in the second half.

Odds: Oregon: -15 – Arizona: +15 Over/Under: 64.5
