vs.

Southern Miss at South Carolina – 7:30 PM ET on ESPN

The old ball coach is back for another season as Steve Spurrier’s Gamecocks host the Southern Miss Golden Eagles out of Conference USA. Last season South Carolina went 7-6 overall and 3-5 in conference play. The Golden Eagles were also 7-6 overall and 5-3 in the conference.

Prediction: Southern Miss +14Bet Now

Odds: Southern Miss: -14 – South Carolina: +14 Over/Under: 47

vs.

Miami (Ohio) vs. #4 Florida – 12:00 PM ET on ESPN

The new look Gators with John Brantley starting at quarterback take on the Miami (OH.) RedHawks from the MAC. Last season the Redhawks only managed to win one game so expect this one to get ugly early.

Prediction: Florida -35Bet Now

Odds: Miami (Ohio): +35 – Florida: -35 Over/Under: 53

vs.

Louisiana-Lafayette at #23 Georgia – 12:21 PM ET on ESPN3.com

Aaron Murray will make his debut as Georgia’s new starting quarterback against the Rajin’ Cajuns out of the Sun Belt Conference. This is a great chance for Murray to get settled in his new role as the Bulldogs should roll in this one.

Prediction: Georgia -28Bet Now

Odds: Louisiana-Lafayette: +28 – Georgia: -28 Over/Under: 53

vs.

Kentucky at Louisville – 3:30 PM on ABC

If this was basketball season this would be a five star game, but given that these two school’s football teams combined for just 11 wins last season it hardly qualifies as ‘must see’ TV. The Wildcats are clearly the better team in this one.

Prediction: Kentucky -3Bet Now

Odds: Kentucky: -3 – Louisville: +3 Over/Under: 49

vs.

Jacksonville State at Mississippi – 3:30 PM ET on ESPN3.com

Former Oregon QB Jeremiah Masoli gets a second chance as Mississippi’s starter for this season. This is great news for Rebel fans provided Masoli continues to stay out of trouble.

Prediction: Mississippi – Bet Now

vs.

Tennessee-Martin at Tennessee – 6:00 PM ET on ESPN3.com

With their second new head coach is as many seasons, Tennessee kicks off the 2010 season with Derek Dooley now leading the charge for the Volunteers. He picked a good team to try and get the first win under his belt.

Prediction: Tennessee – Bet Now

vs.

Memphis at Mississippi State – 7:00 PM ET on ESPN U

The Bulldogs are going with a redshirt freshman as their new starting quarterback; Tyler Russell. Mississippi State gets the win and covers against a Tiger team that only managed to win two games last season.

Prediction: Mississippi State -21Bet Now

Odds: Memphis: +21 – Mississippi State: -21 Over/Under: 53

vs.

Arkansas State at #22 Auburn – 7:00 PM ET

The Red Wolves are no match for a Tiger team that has serious aspirations of unseeding the top teams in the conference. Look for Auburn QB Cameron Newton to have a big day in his debut.

Prediction: Auburn -31Bet Now

Odds: Arkansas State: +31 – Auburn: -31 Over/Under: 58

vs.

Tennessee Tech at #17 Arkansas – 7:00 PM ET on ESPN3.com

Tennessee Tech is way in over their heads against an Arkansas team that has a rock solid defense and an offense that can put points on the board. Look for the Razorbacks to score early and often in this one.

Prediction: Arkansas – Bet Now

vs.

San Jose State at #1 Alabama – 7:00 PM ET on ESPN3.com

In looking at this matchup I am surprised there is an actual line on the game as Alabama should be able to score at will. San Jose State will have a difficult time avoiding a shutout.

Prediction: Alabama -39Bet Now

Odds: San Jose State: +39 – Alabama: -39 Over/Under: 53.5

vs.

Northwestern at Vanderbilt – 7:30 PM ET on ESPN3.com

Give credit to a team that only won two games in 2010 for scheduling an opening day game against a team from another major conference. Maybe after this game the Commodores will think twice about doing it again.

Prediction: Northwestern -5.5Bet Now

Odds: Northwestern: -5.5 – Vanderbilt: +5.5 Over/Under: 44.5

vs.

#21 LSU at #18 North Carolina – 8:00 PM ET on ABC

In looking at this matchup I am surprised there is an actual line on the game as Alabama should be able to score at will. San Jose State will have a difficult time avoiding a shutout.

Prediction: LSU – Bet Now
