The balance of power in the SEC remains unchanged for at least another week but there certainly was a close call for the No. 1 team in the country. Trailing by three points late in the fourth quarter, Alabama needed two crucial interceptions of Arkansas QB Ryan Mallett to pull out the 24-20 win.

In another big SEC matchup, Auburn started the week at No.17, but vaulted all the way to No. 10 with a hard-fought 35-27 win over then-No.12 South Carolina. The loss dropped the Gamecocks to No. 19.

Here is a brief look at every game in the SEC this week. All odds are provided by Sportsbook.com

vs.

Vanderbilt @ Connecticut – 12:00 PM ET

Vanderbilt (1-2) is coming off its first SEC victory since the end of the 2008 season. The Commodores were an 11 ½ point road underdog against Mississippi, but upended the Rebels 28-14 with an 80 yard rushing TD and a 21 yard interception return for a score. Connecticut is 2-2 and has failed to live up to its lofty preseason expectations, making the Huskies ripe for the upset.

Prediction: Vanderbilt +7.5Bet Now

Odds: Vanderbilt: +7.5 – Connecticut: -7.5 Over/Under: 47

vs.

Alcorn State @ Mississippi State – 12:00 PM ET

IAA Alcorn State out of the SWAC is 3-0 this season, but steps way up in class this week. Mississippi State (2-2) is coming off an impressive 24-12 win over Georgia (1-3) as a one-point home favorite after brutal back-to-back losses to LSU and Auburn. The Bulldogs coast to an easy win this week but do not cover the huge spread.

Prediction: Alcorn State – Bet Now

vs.

Louisiana-Monroe @ #10 Auburn (-34) – 12:00 PM ET on ESPNU

Louisiana-Monroe (1-2) out of the Sun Belt Conference is way out of its league against the No. 10 team in the country. Auburn (4-0) is coming off a huge 35-27 win over then-No. 12 South Carolina in a game it was favored by 2 ½ points at home. The Tigers could get caught napping early in this one, but pull away at the end.

Prediction: Auburn -35Bet Now

Odds: Louisiana-Monroe: +35 – Auburn: -35 Over/Under: OFF

vs.

Kentucky @ Mississippi – 12:21 PM ET

Kentucky (3-1) of coming off a 48-14 rout at the hands of No.7 Florida in a game the Gators were favored by 14 points at home. Mississippi has been a walking disaster this season, losing to Jacksonville State 49-48 in OT and Vanderbilt 28-14. The Rebels did manage to beat Fresno State last week 58- 38 as a two-point home favorite, but have been woefully inconsistent so far. They should get it together in this one to grind out a win at home.

Prediction: Mississippi -3Bet Now

Odds: Kentucky: +3 – Mississippi: -3 Over/Under: 58.5

vs.

Tennessee @ #12 LSU (-16) – 3:30 PM ET

Tennessee (2-2) barely avoided its third loss in four games as it squeaked by UAB 32-29 in overtime as a 14 point home favorite. LSU is a perfect 4-0 with wins over North Carolina, Mississippi State, and West Virginia to its credit. The Tigers get ready to head into the meat of their conference schedule with a romp over the Volunteers.

Prediction: LSU -16Bet Now

Odds: Tennessee: +16 – LSU: -16 Over/Under: 42.5

vs.

Georgia @ Colorado – 7:00 PM ET

Georgia (1-3) needs to quickly put its last three games behind itself in order to still come out of this mess with a winning season. The Bulldogs lost all three games both SU and ATS but should be able to regroup to beat a Colorado team that lost to California 52-7 as a 10 ½ point road underdog.

Prediction: Georgia -4.5Bet Now

Odds: Georgia : -4.5 – Colorado: +4.5 Over/Under: 47.5

vs.

#7 Florida @ #1 Alabama (-9) – 8:00 PM ET

The SEC ‘game of the week’ pits two top 10 undefeated schools against one another. Florida has not looked spectacular but they have won three games ATS as a two-touchdown favorite so it must be doing something right. Alabama survived a scare last week, pulling out a four point win over Arkansas as a 6 ½ point road favorite in a game it seemed destined to lose. The gap between these two teams is not nine points even with the Crimson Tide playing at home.

Prediction: Florida +8Bet Now

Odds: Florida : +8 – Alabama: -8 Over/Under: 48
