AFC North 2011 Preview

2011 AFC North Season Preview, Predictions Picks & Odds

Welcome to the best and most complete 2011 AFC North Season Preview available online. The teams making up the 2011 AFC North are the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, and Pittsburgh Steelers. The AFC North has long been dominated by the Pittsburgh Steelers. And 2010 was no different. The Steelers, who were without their starting quarterback to start the season, still managed a 12-4 record and nearly walked away with the franchise’s seventh Super bowl victory.

However, 2011 is a new season, and the Baltimore Ravens (12-4) are always breathing down the Steelers’ necks.

The bottom of the division consists of the up and coming Cleveland Browns (5-11) and the lowly Cincinnati Bengals (4-12), who may have just gotten worse

Will 2011 hold new fortunes for these four teams, or will the same outcome arise at the end of the season?

Ahead is a preview of how the teams will look in 2011 helping you determine who is the favorite, and who will give you bragging rights if you pick them when no one else does.

Now that the 2011-2011 season is approaching, here are our season AFC North team previews & predictions from the top NFL handicappers.

2011 Baltimore Ravens Preview

The Ravens have fielded a top defense for as long as anyone can remember, and this year will be no different. The team held on to their best defensive lineman Haloti Ngata in the offseason, thus making sure that the linebackers can run free around offensive lineman. The biggest question of the year for the Ravens, though, will be the quarterback position. Can Joe Flacco lead his team into the postseason and beyond? Only time will tell.

2011 Cincinnati Bengals Preview

The most chaotic team coming out of the NFL lockout was the Bengals, and the organization said goodbye to their starting quarterback and their number-one receiver. Saying goodbye to Carson Palmer and Chad Ochocinco will be weird for awhile, but the team has already started its rebuilding process by picking up quarterback Andy Dalton in last April’s draft. This looks to be a rough season for Cincinnati, and that could be the case for a long time to come.

2011 Cleveland Browns Preview

The Browns were so close to turning it around last year, but failed to do so, thus leading to the firing of their head coach and move in a different direction. The Browns have a good young quarterback in Colt McCoy, and a bruising running back in Peyton Hillis. This combination will guarantee a limited amount of success, but I wouldn’t count on them going far, having to go up against the Ravens and Steelers two times during the regular season.

2011 Pittsburgh Steelers Preview

The Steelers were in the Super Bowl just a few months back, and they have retained nearly every free agent they had on their roster. The team expects to come back even better after their recent playoff run, and only a fool would bet against them. Last year, Ben Roethlisberger missed the first four games because of suspension, but this year he expects to play every game, and that doesn’t bode well for the Steelers’ divisional opponents.
