AFC Week 15 Predictions

AFC Top 3 Matchups- Week 15

There are only three weeks left in the regular season so Week 15 is where the rubber meets the road for a few teams looking to keep their playoff dreams alive. The biggest team on the bubble is Indianapolis, which is in danger of seeing its streak of seven straight postseason appearances come to an end with a loss this week.

Here is a look at my top three matchups in the AFC for Week 15 of the NFL season. All odds are provided by BetUs.com.

Jacksonville @ Indianapolis (-5)              Over/Under: 48 ½

The Jaguars have not always made winning look pretty, but they are 8-5 and one win away from locking up the AFC South. Jacksonville has the 15th ranked offense in the league, but is ranked 29th in passing. Its defense is ranked 26th overall and as a team, the Jaguars have been outscored 331-295.

Peyton Manning finds his back up against the wall which could actually make him the most dangerous player in the league this week. A loss would almost ensure the Colts do not make the playoffs, but a win puts them back in the driver seat in the division with two games to play.

Jacksonville is 5-1 ATS in its last six games in Indianapolis and the road team is 6-1 ATS in the last seven meetings. Indianapolis is 0-4 ATS in its last four games as the favorite. The total has gone ‘over’ in five of the last six meetings. The Colts find a way to win but take the Jaguars to cover.

N.Y. Jets @ Pittsburgh (-6)                       Over/Under: 36

Once thought of as one of the best teams in the league, New York is in danger of not even making the playoffs if it cannot find a way to win some games down the stretch. A loss in this one would leave the Jets at 9-5 with games at Chicago and home against Buffalo still left on the schedule.

The Steelers are 10-3 can still pass 11-2 New England for the top spot in the conference but will most likely have to settle for the second seed after already losing to Patriots in Week 10. They also need a win to maintain a one game lead over 9-4 Baltimore in the AFC North.

New York is 4-10 ATS in its last 14 games following a SU loss and 2-5 ATS in its last seven games overall. Pittsburgh is 7-3-1 ATS in its last 11 games on grass. The total has stayed ‘under’ in six of the last seven meetings. This looks like the second year in a row the Jets will have to find a way to back into the playoffs after adding this one to the loss column.

Denver @ Oakland (-6 ½)                         Over/Under: 44 ½

The Broncos have been relegated to the role of playing spoiler and there is probably no other team in the world they would love to knock out of the playoffs. Interim head coach Eric Studesville  is not the only person auditioning for a job next year which is added motivation for this team to finish on a high note.

The Raiders are enjoying their best season since 2002, but still need to win out to have any chance at winning the AFC West. Last week’s 38-31 loss to Jacksonville was a back-breaker; dropping them to 6-7 on the year.

Denver is 2-7 ATS in its last nine games against Oakland and 2-7 ATS in its last nine games overall. Oakland is 5-0 ATS in its last five games against the AFC West. Stick with the Raiders to win and cover, keeping the dream alive for one more week.
