Arizona Cardinals OddsArizona won the NFC West last year with a 10-6 record. They were 4-4 at home and 6-2 on the road. They went 4-2 in the division and 8-4 in the conference.

They lost to the New Orleans Saints 45-14 in the Divisional round of the playoffs.

Arizona Cardinals Outlook for 2010

In 2008 Arizona shocked the world by making it all the way to the Super Bowl, losing to Pittsburgh on a last minute touchdown. Last year they made the playoffs again and eliminated the Green Bay Packers in one of the most exciting games in postseason history. The key to both of these accomplishments was the play of QB Kurt Warner. In light of his decision to retire, this team is now facing life after Warner; which is a scary proposition for everyone involved.

Entering his fifth season in the league, the keys to this offense will be handed over to Matt Leinart. As the 10th overall pick in the 2006 draft he has yet to even come close to living up to all the hype that surrounded him coming out of college. This will most likely be his last chance as a starter and if he loses his job again it could be for good. The fact that they traded away WR Anquan Boldin to Baltimore will not help his cause, nor will the fact that they ended last year with the 28th ranked rushing offense in the league.

The Cardinals defense played better the second half of the season but they still have some serious holes in a number of positions. Getting DT Dan Williams in the first round of the draft and LB Daryl Washington in the second should provide some much needed depth up front but they have yet address a pass defense that was ranked 23rd in a league.

You cannot underestimate the value that Kurt Warner brought to this team. You could probably attribute four or five wins last season directly to his play. Leinart could still end up being a great quarterback in this league but there is no way he will replace all the production that Warner provided his first full season as the starter.

2010 Arizona Cardinals Prediction: 7-9, third place in the NFC West.
