2010 NFC East – Win Totals Preview, Predictions & Picks

NFC East Win TotalsAs all 32 teams head back to training camp to begin preparing for the 2010 NFL football season, it is time to take a look at the projected win total for each team to try and determine whether they will go over or stay under. Today we take a look at each team in the NFC East.

Dallas Cowboys – Win Total Prediction: 10

dallas cowboys previewIn most sportsbooks Dallas is the odds-on-favorite to win the NFC East, but many experts have the Cowboys winning the conference and possibly even the Super Bowl. With a dominating defense and a high powered offense led by QB Tony Romo, they certainly have all the tools to go all the way, but in looking at their schedule they will have a brutal road to get there. Road games against Green Bay, Minnesota, and Indianapolis coupled with hosting New Orleans make their non-division schedule one of the toughest in the league. They get their 11th and final win of the regular season in week 16 against Arizona, barely winning enough to cover – OVER.

Philadelphia Eagles – Win Total Prediction: 8.5

philadelphia eagles previewThe Kevin Kolb era begins in Philadelphia as he takes over as the starting QB for the departed Donovan McNabb. He has shown flashes of brilliance, but is still untested having only two starts to his credit over the past four years. This team is still good enough to make a run at the East title, but a wildcard spot is probably more realistic. Looking at the Eagles’ schedule their toughest games are all at home with Green Bay, Minnesota, Atlanta, and Indianapolis all making trips to the Linc this year, while Philly’s toughest road games are within their division
- OVER.

New York Giants – Win Total Prediction: 8.5

new york giants previewAfter imploding on defense down the stretch last season, head coach Tom Coughlin has made some wholesale changes to the lineup by bringing in a number of new faces in an effort to get back to the top of the East. Despite his efforts some serious questions remain and in reality the Giants could be going in the opposite direction. Offensively it will be up to QB Eli Manning to try and hold things together, but without any bona fide stars at the skill positions that could be hard to do. They finish the season with three out of four on the road with games in Minnesota, Green Bay, and Washington which could be just enough to do them in
- UNDER.

Washington Redskins – Win Total Prediction: 7.5

washington redskins previewWashington was the best 4-12 team in the league last season as they played everybody tough right to the bitter end. With a new head coach in Mike Shanahan and quarterback in Donovan McNabb, brings a new mentality to this team; one that is steeped in the history of winning. While there are still numerous question marks for Washington especially on the offensive and defensive line, the Redskins will once again be a tough team to beat. The main difference this year is that they are bringing better weapons to the fight. With games against St. Louis, Detroit, Tampa Bay, and Jacksonville the Redskins will only need a couple of mild upsets to reach .500
- OVER.
