NFL Betting – Jets Crash at Home

Carolina Panthers @ New York Jets – Sunday August 26, 2012 9:00PM EST

The New York Jets brought in Tim Tebow to help speed up the Jets’ offense and inspire starting quarterback Mark Sanchez to work harder. The betting experts did not understand the move because it did not make sense for several reasons. The first reason is that Mark Sanchez’ problem is not his work ethic, it is his ability. Sanchez is simply not an NFL quarterback. The other problem with bringing in Tebow is that the Jets’ locker room was already in chaos. This newest move just makes things worse and helps to enhance the feeling of uncertainty among the players.

The Carolina Panthers finally get to enter a regular season with a team it can be proud of. The Panthers will proudly put the team’s first ever franchise quarterback on display when the regular season kicks off. In the meantime, the sports betting sites do not expect to see too much of quarterback Cam Newton in the preseason. The Panthers may pull a page from the Bill Belichick coaching book and sit most of its key starters for the week three preseason game. At a time when most teams play all of its starters for at least a half to get them ready for the season, the Panthers would be wise to giveNewton limited action this week and save him for the regular season.

New York Jets

When the 2011 season ended, the New York Jets had one starting quarterback that could not throw accurate passes and made bad decisions. As the 2012 season gets ready to start, the bookies are quick to point out that the Jets now have two starting quarterbacks that cannot throw accurate passes and make bad decisions. The Tim Tebow move was a novelty move that is not going to make the Jets a better football team. As the season wears on, the Jets will see that bringing in a bad quarterback with a big name to try and help a team that already has a bad quarterback will only lead to more disappointment on the field.

Carolina Panthers

A 5 dimes review of the Carolina Panthers’ roster shows a team that is not quite ready to compete for a playoff spot just yet. But the team is improving and it is showing that it wants to bring in good players. The Panthers have made so much progress in creating a winning culture that it was able to convince veteran wide receiver Steve Smith to sign a contract extension. Smith is one of the most competitive players in the NFL, and he must see something he likes with the Panthers to want to stay. TheCarolina defense is actually a strong and deep unit that should be able to keep the Jets’ offense under control for most of this game.

The Bottom Line

The Jets’ offensive line will not be able to handle theCarolinapass rush and the Jets’ defensive line will not be able to catch Cam Newton. This will be a very long day for the New York Jets and it will be an indication of what is to come for the fans.
