NFL Betting – The Ravens and 49ers Square Off in Super Bowl XLVII

The whole idea behind the San Francisco 49ers reaching the Super Bowl seemed pretty likely during the first seven games of the season. But the NFL betting experts got cold feet about the 49ers when head coach Jim Harbaugh decided to replace veteran quarterback Alex Smith with second-year player Colin Kaepernick. Super Bowl XLVII will only be Kaepernick’s 10th start as a professional starting quarterback, but he has already proven that he can sling the ball with the best of them. He is elusive, strong and smart. He is everything that the San Francisco 49ers need in a championship quarterback.

Jim Harbaugh’s older brother John just happens to be the head coach of the Baltimore Ravens. The online sportsbook experts note that this is the first time two brothers have ever faced each other as head coaches in an NFL playoff game. The fact that it is the Super Bowl makes it very special. When you add in the fact that this will be the last professional football game Ravens’ linebacker Ray Lewis will ever play, then you start to understand the magnitude of the whole situation. This game has a lot of story lines and they will all play out in front of the world on February 3.

San Francisco 49ers

The bookie software knows that the San Francisco 49ers has one of the best defenses in all of football. In order to win this game, that defense will have to find a way to get pressure on Baltimore quarterback Joe Flacco and keep Flacco off his game. Flacco was allowed to stand in the pocket all night against the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship game and he took the New England secondary apart. He will do the exact same thing to the 49ers if that defense cannot get pressure on Flacco.

Baltimore Ravens

A 5 dimes review of this Super Bowl shows that it has a lot of built in drama. People are already wondering what Christmas will be like next year at the Harbaugh family house, regardless of who wins this game. But the other intriguing story line is the retirement of Ray Lewis. Many people are speculating that it is the emotion of this being Lewis’ last season that is pushing the Ravens to win. Baltimore has an unlikely win over the Denver Broncos and a nearly impossible win over the New England Patriots to its credit. A win in Super Bowl XLVII just seems fitting.

The Bottom Line

The Harbaugh Bowl will be won by the team that is able to slow down the opposition’s offense. In the end, the Ravens will find it a tall order to slow down a 49ers offense that no other coordinator has been able to stop. Colin Kaepernick adds a dimension to the 49ers that makes it a champion.
