Top 3 NFL ‘Over/Under’ Plays- Week 14

Last week, for the just the fourth time this season, the ‘under’ bet had the advantage with nine games scoring less points than the total line and seven games scoring more.

The total average number of points scored in each game came in at 40.8 which was around two points less than the week before. The highest average total was in Week 8 at 56.5 points and the lowest was in Week 1 at 36.6. The most combined points scored last week was 69 in Jacksonville’s 38-31 victory over Oakland. The least amount of points scored was 10 in Detroit’s 7-3 win over Green Bay.

Cleveland @ Cincinnati                     Over/Under: 40

The Browns are currently ranked 29th in scoring; averaging just 18.1 points per game. They have scored a total of 42 points in their last three games. Cleveland has only scored 21 or more points four times this season.

The Bengals have now lost 10 games in a row after a 2-1 start. They are ranked 20th in the league in scoring; averaging just 20.2 points per game. Terrell Owens decided to add some fuel to the fire by calling out the coaching staff as the cause of the problem on his weekly radio show with Chad Ochocinco.

The total has stayed ‘under’ in 13 of Cleveland’s last 17 games in December and in 13 of Cincinnati’s last 16 games in December. The total has stayed ‘under’ in four of the last five meetings in Cincinnati. The Pick: UNDER

Jacksonville @ Indianapolis              Over/Under: 48 ½

The Jaguars’ offense is averaging 22.7 points per game for the season and scored 31 points against Indianapolis the first time they played this season. Their defense is ranked 25th in points allowed; giving up an average of 25.5 points per game.

The Colts’ offense is averaging 26.7 points per game, which is fourth best in the league. They have scored 27 points or more eight times this year. Their defense is ranked 23rd in points allowed; giving up an average of 24.5 points per game.

The total has gone ‘over’ in six of Jacksonville’s last seven games overall and in three of Indianapolis’s last four. The total has gone ‘over’ in five of the last six meetings. The Pick: OVER

Atlanta @ Seattle                                Over/Under: 45 ½

The Falcons are ranked fifth in the league in scoring; averaging 25.8 points per game. They have averaged 31 points in their last three games on the road. Their defense has given up 20 or more points in seven games this season.

The Seahawks are averaging 23.7 points per game at home this season and have scored a combined 55 points in their last two at home. Their defense has given up an average of 25.3 points per game and a combined 130 points in their last four games overall.

The total have gone ‘over’ in three of Atlanta’s last four road games and in six of its last eight games overall. The total has gone ‘over’ in four of Seattle’s last six home games and in its last six games overall. The Pick: OVER
