Top 3 NFL ‘Over/Under’ Plays- Week 8

For the sixth week in a row the ‘over’ bet had the advantage with 10 games scoring more points than the total line and only four scoring less. The total average number of points scored in each game came in at 52.6; which was the highest of the season. The lowest was in Week 1 at 36.6. New York and Dallas combined for the most points with 76 in the Giants 41-35 win over the Cowboys. The least amount of points scored was 31 in Washington’s 17-14 win over Chicago.

Carolina @ St. Louis                          Over/Under: 37 ½

Carolina’s offense is ranked 31st overall and ranked dead last in the league in scoring; averaging just 12.5 points per game. The Panthers’ defense is ranked seventh overall and is giving up an average of 21.7 points per game.

St. Louis’s offense is ranked 27th overall and ranked 27th in scoring; averaging 17.1 points per game. The Ram’s defense is ranked 15thoverall and eighth in points allowed; giving up an average of just 18.7 points per game.

The total has stayed ‘under’ in four of the Panthers last five games overall and in eight of the Rams last 10 games overall. The Pick: UNDER

Minnesota @ New England             Over/Under: 44

After a slow start, Minnesota’s offense has scored an average of 23 points in its last four games. Conversely, after a strong start the Vikings defense has given up an average of 26 points in their last three games.

New England remains ranked first in the league in scoring, averaging 29.5 points per game. The Patriot’s defense is giving up an average of 22.7 points per game, ranking them 22nd in the league.

The total has gone ‘over’ in four of the Vikings last five games on the road. The total has gone ‘over’ in six of the Patriots last eight games overall. The Pick: OVER

Houston @ Indianapolis                   Over/Under: 49 ½

Houston’s offense is ranked sixth in the league in scoring, averaging 25.5 points per game. The Texans’ defense is ranked 29th in the league in points allowed; giving up an average of 27.8 points per game.

Indianapolis’s offense is averaging 27.2 points per game, which is third best in the NFL. The Colts’ defense is giving up an average of 20.8 points per game and gave up 34 points to Houston in a 34-24 loss on opening day.

The total has gone ‘over’ in 10 of the last 11 games between these two teams overall and in six of the last seven games played in Indianapolis. The Pick: OVER
