Ravens vs. Steelers | Divisional Playoffs Predictions

NFL Free Pick – Saturday, January  15, 2010

vs.

Baltimore Ravens at Pittsburgh Steelers
Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 4:30 pm ET on CBS

Pointspread: Steelers -3
Over/Under: 36 ½

The Ravens had little trouble getting past Kansas City in the first round of the playoffs as they capitalized on five forced turnovers with a touchdown and two field goals to break a tight contest wide open. They also used a running game led by Ray Rice to control the clock with a couple of time consuming drives. Baltimore QB Joe Flacco did throw for 265 yards and two touchdowns, but look for a heavy dose of the Ravens’ defense and ground game again this week.

The Steelers did not have QB Ben Roethlisberger as their starter in their 17-14 loss to Baltimore in Week 4, but he helped his team win 13-10 on the road in Week 13 with 253 yards passing and one touchdown, despite breaking his nose. Much like the Ravens, look for Pittsburgh to rely on its defense and punishing ground game led by Rashard Mendenhall to get the win.

Baltimore is 4-1 ATS in its last five road games and 4-1 ATS in its last five games overall. The total has stayed ‘under’ in its last four games against the AFC North. Pittsburgh is 3-2 ATS in its last five games at home and 5-2 ATS in its last seven games overall. The total has gone ‘over’ in six of the last 10 meetings. Take the Ravens to grind out another win on the road in a low-scoring defensive battle.

The odds makers have the Baltimore Ravens as a -3 point favorite with an over/under of 36.5.
