NBA Basketball – Bulls, Hawks Meet In Clash Of Top-Five East Teams

Those who bet on March Madness are watching their teams jockey for seeding position in the conference and NCAA Tournaments, while the same is going on in the NBA where teams are looking o move up the standings. Two of those teams in the Eastern Conference are Chicago and Atlanta, who will go head-to-head at Philips Arena on Wednesday.

Bulls Hawks Betting – Wednesday, 7:00 PM ET

The Bulls (41-17) have won three in a row after a 105-77 rout of Washington on the road, led by 21 points each from Derrick Rose and Carlos Boozer. At the trade deadline NHL teams may have been looking for a physical presence to shore up their team, and the Bulls showed that can also help in the NBA as they outscored the Wizards 48-22 in the paint, while outrebounding them 56-29. The Bulls also held the Wizards to a miserable 35.6% from the field, and as of Tuesday, Chicago is only two games out of first in the East behind Boston, and just one game behind second-place Miami.

The Hawks (36-24) are six games behind Chicago after a 100-90 loss in Denver, and they were also beaten in the paint as they were outscored 50-28 down low. Joe Johnson led the way with 22 points, while Al Horford added 21 points and 16 boards for the Hawks, who were 2-of-19 from beyond the arc, while shooting 40% from the field overall. The Hawks are also still sorting out their point-guard situation after moving Mike Bibby, so it may take Jeff Teague some time to get used to being a starter in the NBA. Teague had seven points and six rebounds, but he also had two assists and two turnovers while shooting 1-of-6 from the field.

Betting services should favor the Hawks at home, where they are 17-9 SU, and they are 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS in their last five games at Philips Arena against the Bulls, who are 16-12 ATS on the road. On the other side, the Hawks are 9-17 ATS at home, so it should be a close game. We’re taking the Bulls on the road in this contest as they have no way to slow down Rose, while the addition of a healthy Joakim Noah, along with Boozer, gives the Bulls an advantage in the post. The Hawks may also be without Josh Smith, who hurt his knee against the Nuggets on Monday and is questionable for the Chicago game, and that is another big advantage for the Bulls, who should be able to run wild in the post. Go with the Chicago Bulls when betting online on Wednesday.
