2010 NBA Eastern Conference PreviewWelcome to the best and most complete 2010-2011 NBA Eastern Conference Season Previews & Predictions available online.

With the All-Star trio of Lebron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh down in South Beach, the Heat is poised for NBA championship contention, with the odds makers listing Miami as the -175 favorite. But I’m not sold on all the hype, and frankly I’m not sure the Heat will win it all. With the added size to the Celtics front court with Shaq and Jermaine O’Neal, and the always beastly Dwight Howard controlling the paint and Jammer Nelson at the point for the Magic, I honestly believe both the Celtics (+340) as well as Orlando will be right there at the end battling it out for the Eastern Conference crown. One other team on the fringe to watch out for is the Chicago Bulls who have become a legitimate contender in the East due to their pickup of Carlos Boozer. Could this be the rebirth of the Bulls?

Here’s a look at the 15 teams that make up the NBA Eastern Conference:

Boston Celtics Season PreviewThe “Big Three” of Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett aren’t getting any younger, but that hasn’t stopped them from leading the Celtics to two NBA Finals appearances in the last three years. Rajon Rondo will once again be a force at point guard, and there will be no need to rush Kendrick Perkins back from his injury with the additions of Jermaine and Shaquille O’Neal up the middle. Boston will once again be a threat to go all the way.

Seventh-overall draft pick Greg Monroe will be a welcome addition, as will the free-agent signing of Tracy McGrady. While these two players won’t turn the Pistons around overnight, they should help the team take some important strides in the right direction.

When you have a team coming off two straight 59-23 seasons and two straight trips to the Conference Finals, you don’t need to make a whole lot of changes. Dwight Howard and Vince Carter will once again lead the way for the Magic, who should once again be among the league’s elite.

Wall gives the Wizards a lethal combination at guard along with Gilbert Arenas. Twenty-six wins may not seem like much, but it was a step in the right direction after only nine wins in 2008-09, and Wall should help the Wizards improve their win total once again.
