2009 Record: 8-5 Big East Record: 3-4 2010 Returning Starters: 15: 10 Offense, 4 Defense, Kicker,

Coach: Skip Holtz (South Florida 1st year)

Offensive Coordinators: Todd Fitch Defensive Coordinators: Mark Snyder

2010 South Florida Players to Watch: QB B.J. Daniels. RB Moise Plancher. WR Dontavla Bogan. WR Sterling Griffin, CSampson Genus, DT Terrell McClain, LB Sabbath Joseph, CB Kayvon Webster

2010 South Florida Strengths:
The offensive line retums seven players who had multiple starts in 2009, including Genus, a second-team All-Big East selection. Daniels is capable of taking over agame offensively with his feet and his arm. Despite the loss of senior A.J. Love to a knee injury, the receiver position has big-play potential.

2010 South Florida Weaknesses:
The Bulls most replace pass rushers George Selvie and Jason Pierre-Paul at ends, and there was some concern about the secondary in the spring despite the retum of four players with starting experience. Will the running game, inconsistent in 2009, step up as hoped? Daniels needs to improve his completion percentage and become more consistent.

2010 South Florida Offense:

USF took a hit when A.J. Love, who had 65 receptions in 19 career starts, tore an ACL in the spring game. He will miss at least the nrst half of the season. The Bulls, however, return starting receivers Dontavia Bogan (22 catches, four touchdowns) and Sterling Griffin, who had a 73-yard touchdown reception against Florida State. Sophomore Lindsey Lamar, moved from running back to wideout, adds a big-play threat. Quarterbacks have led the Bulls in rushing in each of the past four years, and new coordinator Todd Fitch would like to see that change. Senior Moise Plancher (581 yards rushing in 2009) was granted a sixth year of eligibility for medical reasons and could be the answer. Sophomore Demetris Murray will back him up. If they produce behind a veteran line that features nve returning starters, that will take the pressure off sophomore quarterback B.J. Daniels to do it all. Daniels did a remarkable job in stepping in for injured Matt Grothe last year, leading the Bulls to a win over Florida State in his nrst start. He ended up rushing for 772 yards and throwing for 1,983, but he needs to improve on his 53.7 completion percentage.

2010 South Florida Defense:

Much work needs to be done on a unit that must replace seven starters. Seniors David Bedford (three starts, one sack in 2009) and Craig Marshall (four starts, four sacks) will step in for George Selvie and Jason Pierre-Paul at ends. Ryne Giddins, who had two sacks in three games as a true freshman before going out with an ankle injury, will push for time. Senior Terrell McClain is a returning starter at tackle, and sophomore Cory Grissom will go into the fall NO.1 at the other spot. Senior Sabbath Joseph is a returning starter at linebacker, where he had 48 tackles and forced three fumbles in 2009. Sophomore Sam Barrington and senior Jacquian Williams have one career start each. In the secondary, junior Quenton Washington is a returning starter at one corner and sophomore Kayvon Webster (six starts as a freshman) is a proven commodity at the other. Mistral Raymond, a senior who played safety and nickel back, and sophomore Jon Lejiste have starting experience at the safety spots.

2010 South Florida Special Teams:

Eric Schwartz (11 of 16 on field goal attempts last season) is facing a challenge from Maikon Bonani, who sat out 2009 after injuring his back in a fall. Bonani was 15 of 21 in 2008. Sophomore Justin Brockhaus-Kann is the new punter. Senior Faron Hornes is back after handling all but three of USF’s 19 punt returns last year. Bogan averaged more than 21 yards as the primary kick returner.
